The Journey

Mermazon, a 33-year-old female who stands at 6’3”, lost 114lbs in six months, going from 447lbs to 333lbs. Her incredible journey wasn't just about the weight loss, but also about her mental health. She developed severe depression, which exacerbated her anxiety and binge-eating disorder in 2020.

The Struggle

Mermazon started intense therapy in January, which helped her get out of the vicious cycle of using food as a coping mechanism. By applying for weight loss surgery between June and October 2021, she lost 63 pounds. She is now down an additional 51+ pounds since being sleeved.

The Benefits

Not only has Mermazon's weight loss transformed her physically (from a size US28/30 to US20/22), but it has also transformed her mental health. Losing weight has helped her become free from the cycle of depression and BED, improving her mental well-being significantly. She recovered and regained her confidence, which was a significant win for her.

Achieving Success With the Right Support

Mermazon's success can be attributed to the various forms of support she received during her journey. Her intense therapy, coupled with having the right support system from her family, friends, healthcare providers, and fellow weight loss surgery patients, helped her stay on track towards achieving her goals.

The Takeaway

Mermazon's story is inspiring, as she has shown how an individual can come out of a difficult situation and achieve success with the right support system. Her weight loss journey is proof that it is possible to reclaim your life, overcome debilitating illnesses, and thrive in your mental and physical well-being. It is essential to seek help if you are struggling and know that there is always hope for a better tomorrow.
