F/29's weight loss journey: How she started

Throw-it_Away_Sam, a Reddit user, began her weight loss journey over two years ago. She weighed 302lbs, and was determined to live a healthier life. It was only eight months ago that she began to put significant effort into losing weight. This effort has led to her most recent achievement of being under 200lbs.

Intermittent fasting and veganism: Sam's successful transition

Sam initially tried a keto diet but could not sustain it. She transitioned to intermittent fasting and noticed its positive effects on her. She also became a vegan and discovered the benefits of a plant-based diet, particularly with regards to gut health. Her go-to vegan meals include chickpea and sweet potato coconut curry and avocado toast.

Jogging: A new habit that has stuck

Sam's journey to become a runner was comedic, embarrassing, and amazing. She spontaneously decided to jog one day after having too much energy. She downloaded the Runkeeper app and completed several guided workouts. She initially ran an 11:10 and worked her way down to a 7:40. She still has to improve her endurance, but she is already half-marathon ready come summer.

The impact of a less sedentary job

Sam's job is now less sedentary than it was before. This has allowed her to move more and boost her metabolism. It also helps keep her distracted from snacking or overeating. She works in a job that has her on her feet most of the time, which helps her stay active.

Sam's advice for future weight losers

Sam's advice for anyone hoping to start their weight loss journey is to find what works best for them. Not everyone will have the same experience or results with diet and exercise. She also recommends taking things slowly and not expecting immediate results. Sam's journey took 25 months, but perseverance has been key. And most importantly, she reminds everyone to celebrate the milestones along the way!
