Running and a Balanced Diet

The Reddit user, IWLFQu2, started out with running three times a week for about two months. It was accompanied by cutting out alcohol, drugs, and fast food from their diet. They also made sure to sleep better, getting six to nine hours of sleep instead of four to six. IWLFQu2 then increased running to five times a week, including mid-distance runs of roughly 5-12k, sprint days, and long runs of 15k-21k. The user also started a more balanced diet with more salad and meat.

Powerlifting to the Mix

After following the above diet and exercise routine for a few months, IWLFQu2 added 5-3-1 powerlifting from r/Fitness three times a week to the routine. They did this until November 15th when they took a recovery week that still included a half-marathon in less than two hours. IWLFQu2 increased their protein and carb intake during this phase.

Changes and Next Goals

IWLFQu2 changed their job after the above routine, so there was not much progress. However, their next goal is to reduce body fat to 15%. Currently, they eat normally, sleep late again, but are motivated and have not lost hope. The Reddit community helped them a lot, and they appreciate the help.

Takeaways for Your Own Weight Loss

IWLFQu2's weight loss journey is proof that small changes to your lifestyle, such as cutting out unhealthy foods, getting enough sleep, and adding in exercise, can lead to significant weight loss over time. Finding a balanced diet that works for you, incorporating both cardio and weightlifting, and setting achievable goals for yourself is key to staying motivated and on track.

Conclusion: Inspire Yourself to Try It Out

IWLFQu2's inspiring 42lb weight loss journey is a testament to the fact that anyone can achieve their weight loss goals with discipline and patience. While their routine may not work for everyone, the takeaway is to discover what works for you and create a sustainable routine that you can stick to. In conclusion, don't give up. Losing weight is a process, and small changes add up over time. Remember to celebrate small victories, and you will eventually arrive at your desired results.
