For their midnight snack, they had high-fiber cereal with whole milk avoiding high sodium and cholesterol foods. By sticking to around 1500 calories a day, Alphabunsquad was able to keep hunger at bay without feeling the need to pack in more low-calorie food. In addition, Alphabunsquad would indulge in a beer or two occasionally.

While exercise was not a regular part of their routine, Alphabunsquad did go on a bike ride through the mountains of New Hampshire for over 350 miles. However, this ride did not bring about any significant loss in weight. Instead, most of the weight loss occurred during the last two months of its journey with the help of their dog. By taking their dog out for long walks, runs, aggressive tug-of-war games, and playing with him for around half an hour to an hour each day, Alphabunsquad got a full-body workout. They found that focusing on muscle groups allowed them to build muscle over time. Although Alphabunsquad did not have regular gym access due to the pandemic, they would do pull-ups, shoulder exercises with 20lb weights, and push-ups to stay active.
