F/33/5'7 [260 > 188 = 72] been feeling quite down lately as I've gained a few lbs. Sometimes I think I haven't lost any weight at all, my fiance always says I think I'm bigger than I am. Why can't I see a big enough difference? I guess part of me will always see that same big girl I've always been.

DezDemonah on Reddit shares her story about her weight journey from 260lbs to 188lbs. However, she still experiences body dysmorphia and negative feelings about her body image. This article reports on her progress and how she plans to shift her focus towards being stronger and healthier rather than obsessing over the number on the scale.

Body dysmorphia

DezDemonah admits to feeling down lately due to having gained a few pounds. She, like many others, struggles with body dysmorphia, where an individual perceives their body to be unattractive, even if it is healthy and attractive. She has realized that she may likely struggle with this issue forever.

Shifting focus

Reddit users have encouraged DezDemonah to shift her focus away from her weight and towards being fitter and stronger by adopting a healthier and more active lifestyle. This focus has helped her cultivate a better relationship with her body and brought down her negative feelings about her body image.

The benefits of a healthy lifestyle

Aside from weight loss, changing one's lifestyle to become healthier offers numerous benefits, including an improved immune system, a better mood, and increased energy levels. Exercise and healthy eating habits are important in promoting overall wellness.

Conclusion

It is a reminder to others to prioritize their wellness and to not let body dysmorphia overpower their self-confidence. If you are struggling with similar issues, try focusing on overall wellness rather than weight loss as a primary goal.
