F/31/5'10 [210lbs > 185lbs = 25lbs] Unfortunately, I don't have any full body photos of me at my heaviest. The before photos here is ~198. My progress has been incredibly slow but my strength has improved drastically the last few months. Really proud of my muscle gain thus far! Work in progress.

Introduction

For Reddit user willhikeforbeer, the journey towards weight loss and muscle gain was slow but steady. Without crash diets or quick fixes, they managed to lose 25lbs and improve their strength drastically over the past few months.

Patience is key

The progress may have been slow, but it was consistent. Instead of aiming for a quick fix, the user made small changes over time and focused on sustainable habits, like adding more protein to their diet and increasing their strength training. Patience and consistency allowed them to see real progress over time.

Strength training as part of weight loss

In addition to making small dietary changes, the user also added strength training to their routine. While weight loss tends to emphasize cardio and calorie-burning exercises, strength training can help to build muscle and increase metabolism. The user was proud of their muscle gain and recognized the value of resistance training for weight loss.

No deprivation or crash diets

One of the most important aspects of this user's transformation was the lack of deprivation or extreme diets. Instead of cutting out entire food groups or drastically reducing calories, they found ways to make healthier choices without completely eliminating the foods they enjoyed. This approach ensured that they would be able to stick to their habits in the long term.

Conclusion

While it may not be the most dramatic transformation, the user's progress is a testament to the power of consistency and sustainable habits. By making small changes over time, including strength training and healthier food choices, they were able to achieve real results without any quick fixes or magic solutions. This is a great reminder that anyone can make progress towards their goals by taking consistent and sustainable actions.
