Introduction

As the pandemic hit in 2020, one reddit user named snoopgog decided to take control of his health. In a year, he managed to lose an amazing 122lbs, going from 340 to 208lbs, and ran a 10K. Inspired to push further, he is now training for a half-marathon. Read on for inspiration and tips from his journey.

The Journey to Weight Loss

Snoopgog started his fitness journey in March 2020 during the first lockdown, when he gained weight after stopping smoking. Unfortunately, he broke his foot in September 2020 and put on even more weight during his recovery period. Determined to reach his goal weight, he started logging his daily walks and tracking his progress on Strava.

The Weight-Loss Process

Snoopgog did not track his calories or weight for the first month, but simply began with a change of mindset. By walking every day and eating smaller portions of healthier food, he began to concentrate on making small, positive changes. He suggests choosing one route, walking it every day, and logging it in an app to document progress.

Overcoming Challenges

Snoopgog points out that it's important to stick with it and trust the process, even when facing challenges like temptation from friends who encourage you to indulge in unhealthy foods. Though he caved to temptation occasionally, he stayed focused on his goal and the clothes he wanted to fit into, believing that a positive outcome was possible. When he had more energy, liked what he saw in the mirror, and felt he'd lost enough weight, he would take a picture and later compare it to the previous one.

Looking to the Future

Snoopgog's progress is evident from his distinguished physical appearance and improved confidence as seen in his expression and body language. And he's far from over: inspired and eager to achieve more, he's now preparing for his next challenge--a half-marathon! He recommends his approach to anyone beginning their weight-loss journey, emphasizing that by starting small with the right attitude, it's always possible to make positive changes and see results.
