A Before > After > After After Weight Loss Journey

Reddit user willdabeast20 shares his weight loss journey, going from 270 pounds to 190 pounds before pushing powerlifting numbers and gaining size, which led him to reach 210 pounds. His journey took 34 months to achieve.

Calorie-Controlled Diet

As part of his weight loss journey, willdabeast20 cut his calories down to roughly 1200-1500 a day, eating as much protein as possible, next to no sugar and very little carbs. When pushing powerlifting numbers, he increased his intake to roughly 2400 calories a day while still consuming roughly 180g of protein and many carbohydrates. He mostly consumed rice dishes and avoided red meat and dairy products.

Exercise Routine

In the beginning, willdabeast20 did four days a week in the gym, focusing on weightlifting and core strength with changing plans until his weight was under 200. Currently, he goes to the gym 5 days a week, doing a consistent workout every week. On Mondays, he focuses on chest and abs with a run, Tuesday arms with yoga and then run, Wednesday shoulders with abs and a long stretch, Thursday no gym with low impact peloton ride, Friday legs, Saturday deadlifts and back, and Sunday full rest with a potential run or yoga.

Flexibility and Cheat Meals

Willdabeast20 tries to be flexible with his dinner because he enjoys going out with his wife, friends or customers sometimes. His go-to cheat meal is chicken wings and cheap beer, but he loves anything fried and all manner of tacos.

Determining Goals and Consistency

The most crucial things in this weight loss journey were determining goals and being consistent in working towards them while also acknowledging that you're human and can't be your version of perfect all the time. Anyone can apply the same principles and methods willdabeast20 used, but should remember that what worked for him may not work for everyone.
