Tracking CICO and Reaching Step Goals Led to Success

Losing weight has never been easy for this Redditor, but she succeeded by tracking CICO (calories in, calories out), reaching her 10,000 step goal every day, and lifting weights 4 times a week for the first 6 months. Unfortunately, she hurt her back and had to take a break from lifting, so for the last 3 months she's been eating intuitively and walking up to almost 7 miles every day.

Building Muscle with Heavy Lifting Resulted in Better and Faster Results

She started off doing endurance lifting (lower weight high rep) but started seeing better results faster when lifting heavy with lower reps. She would lift until her muscles were ready to give out. With legs on Monday and Thursday and upper body on Tuesday and Friday, cardio on Saturday and rest on Wednesday and Sunday, this regimen was the secret to her success.

Consuming 1200 Calories on Rest Days and 1400-1600 on Lifting Days

For the first 6 months, she consumed around 1200 calories on rest days with 1400-1600 on lifting days, but for the last 3 months she's been eating around 1600-1800 every day. Despite the slight increase in calories, she was still able to shed the pounds and reach her goal weight of 128 lbs.

Losing Weight Does Not Automatically Mean Happiness

While she's thrilled with her weight loss, she admits that it does not automatically result in happiness. The journey still continues as she adapts to this change mentally. However, she's enjoying doing the things she always wanted to do, like going out with her friends. And her legs are now free of the heat rashes she'd get between her thighs.

Never Give Up on Yourself

This Redditor's journey from 184 to 128 lbs was a long one, but she never gave up. She is happy to share her inspiring story to help others. While it takes a lot of hard work and commitment, it is possible to shed those extra pounds and achieve your goal weight. Remember to never give up on yourself, stay committed, track your progress and celebrate your achievements.
