An Unconventional Approach

BlackKracken, or John, lost an incredible 250 pounds in 16 months. His secret? An unconventional approach consisting of focusing on just three habits for six weeks straight, and setting attainable goals. John found that focusing on and consistently working on small changes was a key factor in his success.

Physical, Dietary, and Mental Habits

During his weight loss journey, John focused on three habits: physical, dietary, and mental. For the physical habit, he walked for at least 5 minutes before and after every meal, which made him walk for an hour each day. He also drank only water, and for the mental habit, he made his bed every day.

Set Attainable Goals

John realized that setting goals based on why he wanted to lose weight was important, such as being comfortable in public and gaining confidence. He encouraged others to try the things they hope to do when they're thinner now instead of waiting. As he added more habits, he became more confident in his choices that led him to his goals.

Take Responsibility and Stop Punishing Yourself

John emphasized taking responsibility for his weight loss, realizing that it was up to him to make his meals and control his food. He also stressed that the more you reward yourself, the more it feels like a punishment; change should be lived and reward enough.

Life Changes

John's weight loss journey started when he lost his father, job, and home at the same time. He began couch surfing and living in his car, and it was during this time he started the change that led to his weight loss. John's belief that we can only change our lives ourselves is a valuable and empowering lesson for anyone.
