Protoman999, a 20-year-old man, decided to go on a weight loss journey after realizing that he was not content with his physical appearance. In his post on Reddit, he shared that he used to weigh 100 kg but was able to bring his weight down to 87 kg in two years. This journey was not easy as he also had to deal with severe body dysmorphia that made him think he looked like “shit” despite the significant progress he made.

Protoman999 used a mix of Starting Strength and push-pull-leg split as his workout routine. He did 3x5 on the compound lifts and 4x8-12 on the others. He also focused on his nutrition by counting macros, preferably keto during the cut phase with at least 200g protein per day. However, he admits that he preferred a diet that was a “little on the dirty side” during bulking.

One thing that stood out in protoman999's fitness journey is that he did not only do it for cosmetic reasons. He admitted that his initial motivation was girls, but he continued and trained even harder for himself after he got into a relationship. According to him, he now trains harder than ever, and he has also gained confidence in his posture and general confidence.
