Losing the First 30ish Lbs

The user started their weight loss journey after moving to a new state and signing up to go to the gym every evening. They lost the first 30ish pounds over 6-9 months through regular exercise and a general conscious effort to eat better. They tried tracking calories on and off but were wary of weighing themselves.

Moving into Powerlifting

After plateauing around the 160s, the user got into powerlifting and focused on strength goals for a year. They mostly maintained their weight but became hella strong. They only weighed themselves once at 168lbs during this period.

COVID and Restarting Weight Loss

With gyms closing due to COVID, the user's muscle building era fizzled out. After getting over their scale aversion, they weighed themselves and resolved to lose the last 20-30lbs. They bought a food scale and started logging everything in LoseIt with a goal to lose 1lb/week. They learned low calorie cooking and listening to their hunger cues.

Reaching the Goal Weight

The user reached their goal weight of 133lbs and has maintained it with some tracking. They originally aimed for 145lbs but are happy with where they are now. They plan to get back into the gym and start powerlifting again.

A Journey Towards Health

This weight loss journey spanned four years and involved various ups and downs, from gym-going to powerlifting to COVID-related setbacks. The user attained their goal through regular exercise, conscientious eating, and determination.
