Introduction

FabioFan, an M/18/5’11” Reddit user, documents his 1-year-long weight journey in a series of before-and-after photos of his impressive transformation. His start weight of 118 pounds is not unusual for someone with his height, but he knew he wanted to put on more muscle mass. His progress photos show him now weighing 170 pounds with a significant increase in lean muscle mass.

Challenges with Diabetes

FabioFan’s journey also inspires those who have been diagnosed with diabetes. He mentions in one of his comments that he has an insulin pump, making it difficult to balance nutrition and insulin without gaining too much weight. However, he proved that gaining weight and muscle is still possible. He aims for 300-350 grams of carbs a day and still keeps his numbers great.

Routine and Diet

Regarding his routine, he shares a selection of his favorite lifts for each group, including Squats and Leg presses for Legs, Bent over Rows and T Bar Rows for Back, Incline dumbbell presses and Cable flies for Chest, Preacher curl and Incline curl for Biceps, Skullcrushers and Tricep pushdowns for Triceps, and cable curls and incline Russian twists for abs. For diet, he tracked his macros and followed an IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros) diet.

Work Ethic

FabioFan attributes his success to his work ethic, going to the gym 6 days each week. He does, however, listen to his body, and if it’s too tired, he backs off. His gain has been healthy with no added fat.

Conclusion

FabioFan’s incredible journey is motivational to those who want to embark on a weight gain or loss journey. He proved that with the right mindset, discipline, and knowledge, it’s possible to achieve physical goals no matter the challenges. His story is a reminder that everyone's weight journey is unique, and there is no right or wrong way to reach your desired weight.
