Reddit user AcinYQG shared his incredible two-year-long weight-loss journey of going down from 400 pounds to 230 pounds. Along with his story, he shared photos of himself throughout the process, taken at different stages of his transformation. After having diabetes and obesity for years, and being told that he might not live long, he started his journey two years ago, and his transformation is incredible.

When asked about his workout routine, he mentioned that he started slowly and gradually increased his workout’s intensity, frequency and length. Starting from 15 minutes on a stationary bike increased eventually to 800 kilometers last June. He also started paying attention to his diet and changed it to a more natural and balanced one. He advised others to pay attention to food macro synergies, not to strictly calorie count, and to portion their meals wisely.

What he did was both natural and effective, and his insulin resistance and diabetic complicates resolved on their own. His advice to people struggling with weight loss healthily is not to get discouraged throughout the process, for the last leg of the journey is the hardest, and to trust the process.

Many commenters praised him for his accomplishment, calling him an inspiration and a hero. They also asked for more tips on how to get started on the weight-loss journey; advice AcinYQG provided by mentioning that even a 15-minute walk around the block is a good start, and to increase duration and intensity gradually to avoid injury and to make it easy and enjoyable. He also remarked that he focused more on strength building to burn fat.

Finally, his story is one of those that teach that we can all overcome our struggles if we try hard enough, work smart, and do it persistently. The key element is to start somewhere small and achievable, then build it up gradually. Anyone can turn their lives around, lose weight, and be healthier and happier by trusting the process, following the right steps, and never giving up on themselves.
