Counting Calories and Maintaining Deficit

WittyAd8002 started by calculating their maintenance calories and subtracting 500 from it to reach a daily goal of 1,600 calories. This became their calorie piggy bank, with no exceeding allowed. Counting calories helped regulate their diet and made them more aware of the food they were consuming. WittyAd8002 also increased their deficit up to 1,800 calories on account of feeling hungrier. They used a calculator called tdeecalculator.com, which provides an estimate of calorie maintenance.

Exercising Regularly

WittyAd8002 exercised 4-5 times a week, doing cardio and total body exercises consisting of jumping jacks, high knees, squats, lunges, and more. While they noted working out isn't necessarily vital for losing weight, it provides a boost to the process if done right.

Focused Protein Intake and Varied Food Choices

WittyAd8002 at first did not target any specific macros but eventually began to focus heavily on protein, aiming for 145 grams daily, the number of which corresponds to their body weight as of the post. They also ate a variety of food throughout the day, such as cereal, a slice of pizza, boneless chicken breast, and more, fitting in pizza occasionally, all while still staying within their calorie piggy bank and ensuring a deficit.

Getting Back on Track and Building Discipline

WittyAd8002 expressed how falling off the wagon happens but that getting back on it is what counts. They built discipline throughout the process and encouraged others to do the same. They believed the discipline they gained through their journey could be applied elsewhere and that maintaining discipline would make all the difference in their progress.

Creating Habitual Changes for a Healthier Lifestyle

Despite being on an intensive weight loss journey, WittyAd8002 did not compromise their current habits too significantly. They worked with what they had and created changes they could maintain, such as counting calories and working out regularly. WittyAd8002 highlighted the importance of regularity and diligence with any established goals, as these traits lead to success in achieving one's goals. Readers are encouraged to try out varied strategies, creating a habit and workable style that can be maintained long-term to achieve their weight loss goals.
