Introduction

Pathalerix, a male weighing 210lb, recently completed the Body Transformation Fitness Challenge (BTFC) 8. They successfully cut down to a lower weight but their journey wasn't easy.

Carb cycling and water consumption

Four weeks out, Pathalerix started carb cycling where they had two days of moderate carb intake followed by four days of low carb intake while drinking 8L of liquid per day. This routine helped them maintain their cognitive functioning and good pumps throughout the cut. At 2 weeks out, Pathalerix reduced low-day carbs to 120g while keeping the calories the same.

Depletion period and other adjustments

Starting from 8 days out, Pathalerix went into depletion period where they ate 100g of carbs, 100g of fats, and 225g of proteins. The macros changed again at 3 days out when Pathalerix changed their water consumption to only 1L per day, while hitting the macros of 70g carbs, 110g fats, and 225g proteins daily. On the day before the competition, they allowed themselves a cup of chocolate chips, and on the day of the competition, they had simple sugars consisting of orange juice and raspberry jam.

Conclusion

Pathalerix's journey was not easy but with the combination of carb cycling, fat intake, and water depletion, they were able to cut down and complete BTFC 8. Results may vary for different individuals, but it's always worth trying out different strategies to find what suits us best. Congratulations, Pathalerix!

Going forward

While this routine helped Pathalerix to complete BTFC 8, it's always good to try various routines and techniques to find what suits one's unique goals and lifestyle. Always consult a doctor and a professional trainer before making any drastic changes.
