Introduction
Losing weight is a gradual process that requires an immense amount of dedication and discipline. One Reddit user, skknt, shares his inspiring 2-year journey of weight loss that’s been upvoted 437 times. From 282 lbs to 185 lbs, skknt shares his routine with the community.
Cardio and Eating Well for a Year
Year 1, skknt focused on cardio and eating well, which helped him lose weight. However, he wanted to challenge himself further and started lifting weights in year 2. He switched from bro splits to Blaha's program and back again to bro splits. Later, he finally settled with P/P/L (pull push legs instead of push pull legs) which goes P P L P P L rest, repeating weekly.
Weight Lifting and Struggle
Weight lifting helped him make further progress for almost a year now. However, it was accompanied by struggles like days he didn't feel motivated enough or the day he lost weight fasting but regained it all the next day. He grinded through the days when he didn't feel motivated because he didn't want to fail.
The Lifts
Although skknt doesn't test his 1 rep max, people often care about the lift numbers. His 3 big ones are: Bench: 120-210, Deadlift: 115-345, and Squat: bodyweight / 115 - 240.
Motivation and Struggles
Skknt also shares his motivation to keep going and answers questions from the Reddit community, like how he kept himself motivated when results weren't coming fast enough. He says you just have to grind through it and not give in to failures. He also shares his struggles with loose skin and stretch marks.
