Introduction

A Reddit user named 130tucker posts his weight loss journey, which started when he realized that he no longer wanted to be overweight and wanted to set a good example for his son. He achieved a 40lbs weight loss in a 12-month period through counting macros and flexible dieting.

Weight Loss Journey

130tucker started his weight loss journey by attempting to lose weight over the summer of 2007, but an accident derailed his efforts. He then started doing high-intensity and kettlebell classes at the YMCA, and eventually went as low as 165lbs. However, he started gaining weight again after starting CrossFit and using it as an excuse to eat anything he felt like. He then tried eating primarily Paleo, but it did not work for him.

It was during his wife's pregnancy that 130tucker realized how much weight he had gained. He decided to count macros and follow a flexible dieting plan known as IIFYM, and he has been doing it successfully for over a year.

Exercise Routine

130tucker's exercise routine involved doing a 30-45 minute walk at lunch and then CrossFit in the gym in the evening about 4-5 days a week. He later transitioned to primarily lifting in the evening and running and 220m-walking lunges at lunch. He also worked on doing strict pull-ups and pushups along with lifts they wanted to do. He worked out in a home gym where he can do what he wants whenever he wants, usually going to the gym only once a week.

Loose Skin Issues

130tucker does have some loose skin around his stomach, but the poor camera quality and lighting during his photos make it less noticeable. He believes that having been overweight most of his young life made his skin lose a good bit of resiliency, and that young skin is something to be taken advantage of. He moisturizes his skin to promote its recovery.

Conclusion

130tucker shows his progress pictures to inspire people who want to achieve the same weight loss success. He also sets an example for his son and motivates himself to remain compliant. Counting macros and flexible dieting worked well for him, and he showed that it's never too late to start. He encourages others to set good examples for their children and to be a better version of themselves by making healthy choices.
