Introduction

Rushanedublin, a 25-year-old man, shares his weight loss journey on Reddit. He lost 50lbs over the course of 9 months. Rushanedublin's transformation is not only a physical one but mental too. In the beginning, he was uncomfortable with his body and didn't like how it looked. He perceived his social interactions as uninteresting because he was overweight. But his weight loss journey has made him feel more confident about himself.

Diet

In the first two months, rushanedublin focused on exercising, but he gained weight instead. He realized that his diet played a major role in his weight loss journey. He started tracking the calories he consumed by using the MyFitnessPal app. Realizing that he was consuming his entire calorie intake in one meal at Chick-fil-A was a turning point. He started tracking his caloric intake and targeted eating 1600 calories. He later increased his caloric intake to 1800-2000 calories as he became more active. He generally avoids sugary foods and beverages, preferring instead to drink only water.

Exercise

Rushanedublin started his exercise plan with Stronglifts 5x5 three times a week, alternated with cardio, such as ultimate frisbee, two days per week. He decreased his weightlifting to two days per week after losing 20 pounds. He continued to play ultimate frisbee 3 times per week and added running on the other days. He made sure to take one day off to rest his muscles.

Results and Reflection

Rushanedublin lost 50 pounds, at an average of 1.28 pounds per week, lowering his BMI from 34.4 to 28.2. Most importantly, he feels healthier and more confident. By tracking his caloric intake, rushanedublin learned the proportions of food that work for him. He found the exercise routine that suited his body and his interests. According to him, weight loss is achievable with a combination of self-motivation and discipline.

Conclusion

Rushanedublin's weight loss journey is inspiring. He achieved his goals by setting a concrete plan and sticking to it. His progress emphasizes the importance of a healthy diet, regular exercise, discipline, and self-motivation in achieving weight loss goals. But more importantly, we should all strive to prioritize health and fitness by cutting down on unhealthy foods and lifestyle. Try incorporating healthy food habits and exercise routines to promote a healthier lifestyle.
