Introduction

BrandSeph, a university student, achieved his goal weight of 132lbs after losing 66lbs over time, off and on. Through his reddit post, we delve into his experience and learn tips for losing weight, maintaining weight loss, and building muscle.

Couch to 5K program

BrandSeph incorporated the "Couch to 5K" program to help with his weight loss. He recommends the program to anyone who is looking to improve their cardio endurance. He shared his experience on how it gets easier after the week 5 mark. Although he had an issue with smoking smoking, he noticed a shift in his performance once he reduced the frequency of smoking.

Calories in, calories out

BrandSeph restricted sugary foods and added more vegetables to his plate. Since he's a short guy, MyFitnessPal recommended a 1500 calorie diet. He also noted that exercise should be pure cardio, but strength training can be a good addition too for building muscle. His advice was to set a goal and have a plan that works specifically for the individual.

Loose skin and building muscle

After losing weight, BrandSeph noticed loose skin on his hips and ass. He recommends incorporating strength training to tighten up after losing weight. Those trying to lose weight should look to lift weights, in addition to doing cardio. BrandSeph plans to start with body weight for now and will get a gym membership when he can afford one.

Conclusion

BrandSeph's experience has shown how weight loss is a achievable goal, with many different methods to achieve it. While it is essential to aim for specific goals, it is also important to tailor a plan to the individual. His story highlights the importance of incorporating strength training to build muscle and tighten up after weight loss while also encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
