Tabata

Tabata is a type of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) developed by Japanese scientist Dr. Izumi Tabata in the 1990s. It involves performing an exercise at maximum effort for 20 seconds, followed by a 10-second rest period, and repeating this sequence for a total of eight rounds or four minutes. The idea is to push yourself as hard as possible during the work intervals to improve your endurance and cardiovascular health.

Examples

Tabata workouts can include a variety of exercises such as squats, burpees, push-ups, and lunges. A typical Tabata workout might involve doing 8 rounds of squats followed by 10 seconds of rest between each round. This would be followed by 8 rounds of burpees, and so on.
