M/19/5'9" [210 > 177 = 33 lbs] (year and a month) 30 pounds doesn't seem like a lot but I actually have self esteem now and I think I look tons better for it but I'm still not where I want to be, would like to be down to 170.

Background and Motivation

At just 19 years old, Reddit user Justanotherpen started his weight loss journey weighing in at 210 pounds. He struggled with major depressive disorder and was using food and energy drinks as a crutch. The suicide of an old friend pushed him to reflect and make a change. He saw that he was not happy with himself and wanted to do better for his partner.

The Journey and Results

Justanotherpen committed himself to getting healthier, changed his diet, started going to the gym, and avoided sugary drinks. He focused on lifting four days a week using high reps and keeping his calorie intake around 2200 a day. Over the year and a month, he lost 33 pounds, and his BMI dropped from 28.9 to 26.1, putting him within the healthy range. He claimed to have gained self-esteem and looked better than ever.

Misconceptions and Personalization

It is important to mention that Justanotherpen's weight loss method worked well for him, but it may not work the same way for everyone. Each person has different needs and physical requirements. Moreover, not everyone needs to lose weight to be healthy or happy. It is essential to remember that the journey of self-acceptance and self-love is a personal one, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

Encouragement to Readers

The journey to self-improvement is not easy, and everyone has their own challenges to face. However, Justanotherpen's story shows that with determination and commitment, one can make a significant difference in their life. If you are struggling with weight, self-esteem, or mental health, try exploring different options, and find what works for you. With the right tools and mindset, you can achieve your fitness and health goals.

Conclusion

Justanotherpen's progress pictures show an impressive physical transformation from weight loss, but his apparent self-esteem and happiness are even more inspiring. It takes courage and motivation to make life changes, but benefits extend beyond physical appearance. A healthier lifestyle can lead to better mental health, higher self-esteem, and overall happiness. So, what are you waiting for? Take a step towards self-improvement today.
