Pregnancy Weight Gain

The user Im_not_that_creative documented her weight loss journey after gaining a lot of unnecessary baby weight during pregnancy. Even though she only gained 50 lbs, her extra pregnancy weight and long postpartum recovery meant that her body needed to lose over 100 pounds to get back to her pre-baby weight.

A Healthy Diet

Much of her postpartum weight loss journey involved making healthy food choices, including cutting back on sugary drinks and committing to drinking 75 oz. of water every day. She did not meticulously count calories. Rather, she focused on maintaining a balanced and healthy diet.

Exercise

At first, the user started with a one-hour-a-week workout routine, which she found had positive results. As she got closer to her weight-loss goals, she bumped up her exercise routine to three to four hours per week. Consistency was important. She found once she skipped one workout, it was easy to skip another one.

Supportive Community

Im_not_that_creative found great support in the community of Reddit users. Reading through the comments and positive encouragement from others helped motivate her throughout her journey. She also had the added benefit and motivation of posting progress pictures on the site.

For mothers struggling with postpartum weight loss, her story provides inspiration and encouragement. Her weight loss journey also serves as a reminder that small steps and a positive attitude can make a big impact on long-term success.
