The Journey Begins

Reddit user pandahead87 had always struggled with binge eating and weight gain, exacerbated by her father's death. After countless failed diets, she elected to undergo gastric sleeve surgery in November. But it wasn't just the surgery that propelled her towards her weight loss goals.

Motivating Factors

One of pandahead87's primary motivators was her dream of running a marathon. In addition, she felt a deep need to get healthy for her son's sake, seeking to regulate her binge eating disorder in order to be mentally present for her child. These factors kept her running and training even when the going got tough.

Diet and Exercise

Along with the gastric sleeve, pandahead87 made major changes to her eating habits. She cut portion sizes and counted calories, ensuring that she got enough protein. She also started taking vitamin supplements, including plexus slim and probiotics, to improve her energy and gastric health. She combined this with rigorous exercise, including running and weight training, to achieve her weight loss goals.

Success

After just 10 months, pandahead87 had shed an incredible 105 lbs, going from 315-320 down to 215 lbs. Her determination and hard work paid off, and her story inspired many on Reddit.

Lessons Learned

Although pandahead87's journey was difficult, she has a message for others who aspire to lose weight: keep going, and remember that everyone's journey is different. What worked for her might not work for you, but it's important to keep trying new things and listen to your own body.
