25/F 5'4" 148lbs. No weight loss. Over the last 2ish months. Not major changes but enough to know I'm on the right path. Just gotta keep going!! My lifts are much stronger and my flexibility is dramatically better. I'm excited :)

Background

Sarcasticgal07, a 25-year-old woman, is on a mission to improve her overall health and fitness. Despite not seeing any weight loss in the last 2 months, she has made significant progress in terms of strength training and flexibility.

Small improvements are still inspiring

Sarcasticgal07 has been documenting her journey on Reddit, sharing photos that show her improved shape, strength, and flexibility. Her post has gotten over a hundred upvotes and several positive comments. She believes that taking photos regularly and not just weighing herself often has helped her see the small changes that she wouldn't have noticed otherwise. This has been a major source of inspiration for her to keep going despite the lack of weight loss.

Crossfit and Olympic lifting

Sarcasticgal07's fitness routine consists of Crossfit 5 times a week and Olympic lifting once a week. She has also modified her diet to support her goals of muscle gain and fat loss. Her diet includes high amounts of protein (up to 200g), low amounts of fat (less than 60g), and up to 150g of healthy carbohydrates. She aims to consume between 1600-1800 calories a day, which supports her workout regimen.

The importance of strength training

Sarcasticgal07's experience shows that focusing on strength training and other non-weight-related fitness goals can be just as rewarding and beneficial as obsessing over the number on the scale. Strength training, in particular, helps build muscles that can burn more calories even at rest, which can ultimately lead to fat loss. Moreover, strength training can improve bone density, reduce joint pain, increase metabolism, and boost confidence.

Conclusion

Sarcasticgal07's story is a reminder that weight loss is not the only measure of success in fitness and health. Small improvements, regular workouts, and a healthy diet can lead to big changes in body composition, strength, and flexibility. It's also important to not compare one's progress to others and instead focus on personal goals and motivations. Anyone can start their own weight loss journey by trying out different exercises and nutrition plans and finding what works for them.
