Introduction

In today's world where fitness is a priority, building a toned and muscular body has become a trend. People try to achieve their body goals by clean bulking or cutting. For clean bulking, the person needs to consume a sufficient amount of calories through clean food sources and perform resistance training. In this article, we will be discussing the journey of a Reddit user who went through a clean bulking program for 3 months by working out only twice a week.

Reddit User Profile

Dr_Vanderwolf, a 21-year-old male with a height of 6 feet, started his clean bulking journey with a weight of 185 pounds. Over the course of 3 months, he reduced his weight to 180 pounds. He did not have the luxury of time as he had a 4-month-old daughter, college classes, and work. Therefore he could only manage to work out on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 in the morning before classes. However, he made adjustments to his diet to consume a sufficient amount of calories.

Diet Plan

Dr_Vanderwolf followed a clean bulking diet by consuming clean food sources such as chicken, brown rice, sweet potatoes, green vegetables, and protein shakes. He also focused on consuming enough protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats to maintain his calorie intake. This allowed him to ensure that he was consuming a sufficient amount of calories even though he was not working out every day.

Workout Plan and Progress

Dr_Vanderwolf had limited availability to work out. He had only 2 workouts per week to make progress on his clean bulking journey. He performed a full upper-body workout and finished with a mile of cardio. With it being only bi-weekly, he did heavier lifts with shorter reps. Although he made huge gains in strength and didn't hit a stagnant period in his progress, he found it frustrating to monitor his gains. He had to rely on the mirror and how his clothes fit as the only way to see his progress.

Conclusion

Dr_Vanderwolf's journey is a great example of how limited time does not have to be a barrier to making progress towards fitness goals. Through his journey, he has made it clear that a proper diet with clean food sources can help in achieving sufficient calorie intake, and limited workouts can still be effective if they are accompanied by heavy lifts with shorter reps. Fitness enthusiasts can learn and take inspiration from his journey to find ways to progressively enhance their body goals.
