Introduction

Reddit user jessicafae shared her inspiring journey of dropping 30 pounds in just 8 months and toning up her belly through a balanced diet and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) cardio.

Diet Changes

To start, she slowly cut the majority meat, particularly red meat and pork, out of her diet and replaced them with substitutes such as veggie burgers. She also moderated her intake of dairy and cheese to feel better after a meal. Additionally, jessicafae drank more water and made sure to hydrate, leading to better-looking skin even after having stretch marks.

Workout Changes

She started her journey with 60 minutes of 12 mi/hr stationary bike session for cardio and mediocre weight lifting. Within two to three weeks, she bumped up to a 16 mi/hr bike session and started to progressively lift more weights. Later on, she integrated HIIT cardio to break through a plateau and to tighten up her belly.

HIIT Cardio

To start, jessicafae did a 15-30 warm-up to get her muscles warm and breathing right before beginning with a 60-second sprint at speed 8 with two-minute rest intervals. She progressed with her speed and did the same 60-second sprint followed by two-minute rest intervals. She also alternated throughout the week between HIIT cardio and longer distance cardio to have more varied training.

Conclusion

Through her dedication, jessicafae was able to push her personal limits and see the results of her hard work. She became inspired by other people's progress and hopes to contribute back to the subreddit to encourage and motivate others. Her story serves as an example for anyone looking to make a positive change in their lifestyle.
