The Beginning

Like many college students, warren_moon gained weight until he reached 210 lbs, which he was initially fine about until one fateful day, he saw a picture of himself that he didn't like.

The Change

He joined a gym and started working on his diet, but made little progress for a solid 6-7 months, which he attributes to a lack of knowledge and full commitment. Nonetheless, he kept at it and gradually gained knowledge from friends, gym-goers, and research results. Fundamentally, he maintained consistency.

The Lifestyle of Healthy Living

Significant dietary changes jumpstarted the improvements in warren_moon's body, like controlling portion sizes and cooking. Processed food is something he tries to avoid, although he is not subscribed to any strict programs. Drinking less high-calorie craft beer is a challenge for him. He said he finally felt like he had control over his health and enjoyed it. There's still weight to lose and muscle to gain, but he's planning a lifestyle of healthy living.

The Supportive Activities

Warren_moon recommends other competitive activities to make exercise fun, such as playing hockey in a men's league to stay active, changing his routine to avoid burnout, and completing a marathon to have a goal to work towards. Jefit on the iPhone and the mega-feature Layne Norton training program have been instrumental in his gym routine.

The Takeaway

Warren_moon's journey is an excellent example of how to focus on consistency and develop a healthy lifestyle while enjoying oneself. Simple changes in diet and exercise routine two years after grad school made all the difference. Everyone's journey is different, but these changes can be tried out for oneself. Congratulations on this achievement, Warren_moon!
