Committed to losing weight, she joined the Body Transformation Challenge and pledged to transform herself by November 18th. Her progress pictures were posted on Reddit as well, which motivated her to keep at it.

Overcoming Struggles

In her Reddit post, ikindofmissthezima mentions that she had been struggling with weight gain for years. However, stress and lack of sleep in the past year had caused her belly to balloon up. She turned to counting calories and paying close attention to macronutrients, as well as incorporating moderate exercise into her routine. By eating in moderation, eating indulgently, and exercising regularly, ikindofmissthezima turned around her weight gain journey.

Pairing Exercise with Calorie Tracking

Ikindofmissthezima started off with just walking and doing yoga, then progressed into C25K and weightlifting. She also invested in a FitBit, which helped track her progress, and as time passed she was able to jog a 5k route without stopping, and reignite her love for working out. Tracking her calories and macronutrients from the get-go helped her successfully lose weight and maintain her new, healthier weight.

By the end of the Body Transformation Challenge, ikindofmissthezima weighed in at 141lbs – a reduction of approximately 46lbs. Although seemingly dramatic, her journey was rooted in patience and dedication. At no point during her transformation journey did she starve herself or induce guilt when indulging, as she believed that both these diets would ultimately lead to failure. Instead she changed her habits, made healthier choices in moderation, exercised regularly, and built lasting habits. As a result, not only was ikindofmissthezima able to reduce her weight, but she was also able to feel all the more confident and happy in her own skin.
