Introduction

This is the story of a 25-year-old Reddit user who goes by the name of BTFC_TEMP_HB. The user started their weight loss journey on August 28, 2011, when they weighed 199 pounds and posted their weight loss journey with the Body Transformation Fitness Challenge subreddit.

The Goal

BTFC_TEMP_HB's goal was to lose weight and lean down. With little success since February, they were determined to lose 5 pounds with the additional motivation of buying a Marriott bed once they succeeded. The user inspired others in the community to put rewards in place to help focus on their goals.

The Roadblocks

Like any weight loss journey, BTFC_TEMP_HB's was not without its challenges. However, the community rallied behind the user by providing advice, support, and encouragement. Even the automated reminder message from the Body Transformation Challenge team was enough to keep the user on track.

The Accomplishments

BTFC_TEMP_HB's journey ended on November 20, 2011. Despite the modest goal, the user succeeded in losing 5 pounds and achieved their aim (which was a big deal for them). Posting about their journey on Reddit helped them to remain accountable, and the support and encouragement they received in the subreddit made a significant difference.

Conclusion

BTFC_TEMP_HB's weight loss journey is an example of how the community can make a difference in achieving a person's health goal. There's no one way to lose weight, and what worked for BTFC_TEMP_HB may not work for others. However, putting a reward system in place, being accountable, and reaching out to the community can provide the additional support to achieve weight loss goals.
