F/20/5'2 [135 lbs --> 109 lbs = 26 lbs down] My main goal when I got to college was to stop looking so "skinny fat" and more just plain lean. I'm still in the process of gaining muscle, but I've lost all the fat I wanted.

Set Goals That Fit Your Lifestyle

This college student's goal was to look lean, and that's exactly what she did. She didn't aim to be a certain weight or body type plastered across Instagram, she set realistic expectations for herself. This made it easier for her to focus on the lifestyle changes she needed to make.

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

It took this student some time to achieve her desired body type. Losing 26 pounds, especially for someone who's only 5'2, isn't an easy feat. Nonetheless, she took it one day at a time and allowed herself to make mistakes, learning from them along the way.

Clean Eating and Exercise

This student's weight loss resulted from a combination of clean eating and exercise. She didn't deprive herself of her favorite foods, but rather made healthier choices. She focused on whole foods and avoided processed ones. Additionally, she found a love for cardio and weightlifting, making exercise something she enjoyed and not just something she had to do.

Be Kind to Yourself

The student reminds us that weight loss is not a linear journey. There will be ups and downs, but it's important to remember that these things happen to everyone. It's important to be kind to yourself and not beat yourself up over setbacks. You're still making progress!

Take Inspiration From Others

It's always inspiring to read about someone else's weight loss journey, especially when it's a realistic and healthy one. Whether you're just starting out or feeling discouraged, know that it is possible to achieve your goals. This student reminds us that you don't have to be perfect, just take it one step at a time and be patient with yourself.
